La sua caratteristica penisola si stende nella parte bassa del Lago di Garda, Sirmione, una cittadina romantica, piacevolissima con tanto da offrire. Piccole spiagge assolate e i paesaggi affascinanti, stazioni termali di acqua sulfurea, resti romani, palazzi medievali e vigneti.
Sirmione ha una storia molto antica, fu abitata fin dal neolitico divenendo poi un importante centro commerciale e culturale sotto l’Impero Romano. Uno dei più importanti siti storici di Sirmione sono le Grotte di Catullo, rovine che si pensava fossero quelle della casa del grande poeta latino, ma se è vero che Catullo visse a Sirmione è anche vero che non sia hanno notizie certe su dove fosse la sua casa.

Sirmione, a small romantic town, is a characteristic peninsula on the Lake of Garda, with small sunny beaches and breath-taking panoramas, health spas, Roman ruins, medieval buildings and vineyards.
Sirmione has a very ancient history. It has been inhabited since the Neolithic and later it became an important commercial and cultural center under the Roman Empire. One of the most important historical sites of Sirmione are the Grotte di Catullo, ruins mistakenly thought to be the house of the great Latin poet: it is true that Catullus lived in Sirmione, but no one knows where.

Questo susseguirsi di epoche e culture ha lasciato un segno indelebile sulla geografia e l’architettura della città, ed è proprio questa mescolanza di stili a rendere speciale la cittadina.
L’entrata al borgo avviene attraverso la massiccia rocca del Castello Scaligero, circondata dalle acque azzurre del lago, crea un forte impatto.
L’interno del borgo è un groviglio di viuzze straripanti di negozi di ceramiche colorate, saponi profumati, quadri, e prodotti tipici come l’olio, ottenuto dai tanti ulivi che crescono sui pendii e sulle colline che circondano il lago.

This succession of eras and cultures has left an indelible mark on the geography and architecture of the city, and it is this mixture of styles that makes the place so special. The entrance to the town is marked by the massive fortress of the Scaliger Castle, surrounded by the lake’s blue water, it creates a strong impact and the impression that you have is to enter in a medieval village.

In the inside the town is a pleasant maze of narrow streets bursting with shops displaying colourful pottery , scented soaps , paintings, and the typical products of Garda, for example oil produced from the many olive trees that grow on the slopes and the hills surrounding the lake.

Sirmione è sempre stata famosa anche per le sue acque termali, fin dall’epoca romana, ma solo all’inizio del secolo scorso fu creato il primo vero centro termale per la cura del corpo: le Terme di Catullo (Piazza Virgilio 1, Sirmione), nel centro storico della città.
Una lunga serie di tubi porta l’acqua dalle sorgenti del Monte Baldo ai diversi centri termali che, grazie alla presenza di numerosi elementi, diventa estremamente benefica per le vie respiratorie, per l’apparato muscolare e per la cura della pelle.

Sirmione has always been known as a spa resort, since Roman times, but only at the beginning of last century the first true spa center was created for body care: Terme di Catullo (Piazza Virgilio 1, Sirmione), are in the old centre of town.

A long series of pipes carries the water from the springs on Monte Baldo to the several spas. These are sulphurous waters which, due to the presence of many elements, become extremely healing for the airways, the muscular apparatus and skin care.

Un giornata per rilassarsi e da dedicare completamente a se stessi.
