Urban Trip_Urbino

Urbino la visiti partendo dal basso, se non è nascosta dalla nebbia ci arrivi con naso all’insù osservando la punta dei campanili e delle torri.

Un tuffo nel medioevo, un ritorno alla vita che c’era qui quando Raffaello Sanzio trascorreva le sue giornate; l’atmosfera di Urbino vi coinvolge, che siate turisti distratti o attenti viaggiatori. Per entrare nella città scegliete Porta Valbona, ricostruita in epoca moderna, nel 1621, passandoci sotto non solo si entra nel centro storico, ma si ripercorre anche il corteo nuziale di Federico Ubaldo della Rovere e Claudia de’ Medici. Porta Valbona fu infatti un dono della città agli sposi, un modo per “abbellire” il loro passaggio tra le mura di Urbino.

Continuando ad immergersi nel centro storico si raggiungono le scalette di S. Giovanni, una stradina che vi condurrà all’omonimo oratorio, non lasciatevi ingannare dalla facciata finto-gotica di inizio ‘900. Il capolavoro dell’Oratorio di San Giovanni è nascosto oltre il portone d’ingresso e vi avvolgerà con i magnifici affreschi sulle pareti. I colori e le pitture portano alla mente cappelle dai nomi più celebri, ma questa, per il suo valore e la sua fama, non è da meno. La Crocifissione copre tutta la parete dell’abside, le tre croci risaltano sullo sfondo, ma avvicinandosi e analizzando i dettagli ci si accorge di quanta umanità giri intorno alla Passione di Cristo. Disperazione e indifferenza, animano la scena, trasportandola dalla realtà religiosa a quella terrena.

Rimanendo sulla stessa via troverete l’oratorio di S. Giuseppe, famoso per il presepe cinquecentesco in marmo. La pietra pomice ed il tufo delle pareti con cui è composta la cappella che lo ospita creano un suggestivo effetto.

Arrivati nel cuore storico di Urbino, Piazza della Repubblica si aprirà davanti a voi. Nei tempi remoti dell’Urbino romana si trovava fuori della cinta muraria, che comprendeva solo la parte alta dell’attuale borgo. Diventata poi Pian di Mercato o Pian di mezzo con l’espansione edilizia oltre le mura romane la piazza si trovò a sorgere tra due colli diventando così il punto d’incontro tra le quattro vie principali, due discendenti e due ascendenti.

Una sosta ai bar della piazza permette di recuperare le forze per raggiungere e dedicarsi alla parte più alta della città: Piazza Rinascimento. Qui sono concentrate alcuni dei luoghi più famosi di Urbino, non solo per la bellezza artistica e architettonica, ma anche per il forte valore simbolico.

Il Palazzo Ducale, la città ideale immaginata dal Duca Federico da Montefeltro, simbolo dell’umanesimo italiano, il Palazzo è in verità una piccola cittadella fortificata, ricca di corridoi e grandi sale. Colto e raffinato, Federico desiderava che il Palazzo Ducale di Urbino superasse per bellezza tutte le altre residenze principesche d’Italia. Non era solo un modo di auto celebrare la propria potenza: voleva trasformare Urbino nella “Città ideale” di cui il Palazzo doveva essere l’espressione più elevata. Inoltre, amava gli artisti e voleva un luogo dove ospitarli e farli lavorare.

Il Palazzo ospita la Galleria delle Marche, entrate a visitarla e passeggiate nelle grandi sale, immaginandole piene di dame e cavalieri, con i grandi camini accesi e la musica dei bardi che riempiva i corridoi. Sono circa 80 le sale del Palazzo adibite a Museo, la collezione raccoglie opere dal 1300 al 1600, in prevalenza dipinti ma anche mobili, sculture, arazzi e disegni. Nell’Appartamento del Duca c’è il capolavoro di Piero della Francesca: la Flagellazione di Cristo, in una delle sale è custodita l’opera intitolata “Città Ideale”, inoltre, anche se opere minori la Galleria però ospita anche capolavori di Raffaello e Tiziano.

Uscendo dal palazzo tornate verso Piazza della Repubblica e girovagate un po’ tra i i vicoli, vi imbatterete di sicuro nella casa natale di Raffaello che conserva alcune opere del pittore, ma allontanandosi dal centro cittadino raggiungete il Parco della Resistenza, dominato dalla Fortezza Albornoz, costruita per difendere la città, qui rilassati sui prati vi potrete godere una panoramica unica sull’intero borgo.
