Wishlist_Birdwatching all’Oasi dei Quadris

Il piccolo borgo di Fagagna, incluso nella lista dei più belli d’Italia, si adagia sulle ultime colline dell’anfiteatro morenico friulano, splendida cornice naturale all’antistante pianura udinese. Un balcone naturale da cui poter ammirare la “bassa” fino al mare, la cui linea azzurra si intravede nei giorni più luminosi dal’alto della collina del cardinale.

birdwatching-oasi-quadris-cosa-fare-isonzo (6)Fagagna e le sue colline, lungo la strada che porta a Majano e e quella per Caporiacco, uno dei tanti luoghi incantevoli del Friuli, ospita l’oasi dei “Quadris” più noto come: Oasi delle cicogne.

Una zona argillosa, con alcune pozze d’acqua, di forma quadrata, che costituiscono l’ambiente più appariscente e caratteristico. Già nel ‘700 l’allora proprietario, il Conte Fabio Asquini, scoprì questa risorsa e diede vita alla fornace Nuova Olanda, che sfruttava l’argilla come materia prima per i manufatti.

Oggi l’area si è trasformata in un centro avi-faunistico che si sviluppa su un centinaio di ettari, con impianti arborei lungo i canali di roveri, ontani e pioppi, che ne consolidano le rive. Da sempre il parco ha avuto un obiettivo principale, quello della reintroduzione della cicogna bianca, fino a diventare la maggiore stazione sperimentale per la sua reintroduzione e adottandola come dell’oasi stesso.

Attualmente ce ne sono una sessantina,una trentina di esemplari adulti liberi e altrettanti giovani in voliera o nursery. Lo spettacolo è vederle, già da lontano in volo, oppure costruire il nido sui pali attrezzati, su quelli della linea elettrica lungo la strada o sui tetti delle case.

Quasi tutte le cicogne vengono “inanellate” con un chip, in modo da seguirle anche quando migrano in paesi lontani per poi ritornare da queste parti nei mesi caldi. Anche se molte di quelle di Fagagna sono ormai stanziali ce ne alcune che emigrano e poi ritornano ai “Quadris” avendo trovato un ambiente ideale.

A fianco di questo “progetto cardine”, si sono sviluppate negli anni altre importanti iniziative che hanno coinvolto l’Ibis eremita e la flora dell’Oasi.

Inoltre da non dimenticare è l’introduzione nell’oasi del Konik, una specie di cavallo primitivo, nell’autunno del 2013. Invece è programmato per il prossimo futuro l’inaugurazione di un nuovo grande progetto che vedrà la reintroduzione della Gru, altro grande trampoliere che ha abbandonato l’Italia nei decenni scorsi e che oggi la sorvola solamente per raggiungere le mete della migrazione.
