Napoli Contemporary Art

Napoli è folklore, Napoli è il sole negli occhi mentre si gira per i mercati rionali, Napoli sono i vicoli, i profumi delle pizzerie e dei cafè, Napoli è tutto questo, ma da qualche anno ormai Napoli è anche arte contemporanea.

La lista di artisti internazionali che espone in città è ormai lunga e i luoghi d’arte spuntano velocemente sia sulle strade più famose che nei quartieri di periferia e in provincia.
Se avete voglia di passare un week end a Napoli, una giornata in giro la si può dedicare a visitare musei, mostre e gallerie d’arte, proprio per questo vogliamo consigliarvene qualcuna più o meno nota.


Innanzitutto il MADRE (Via Settembrini 79 – www.madrenapoli.it), acronimo che sta per Museo d’Arte Contemporanea DonnaRegina; nel centro storico a pochi metri dal Duomo, il Museo si trova nell’antico Palazzo Donnaregina, parte di un vecchio convento. Dal 2005 il MADRE ha delle sale Site Specific in cui espone una collezione permanente, con opere di Warhol, Kounellis , Schifano, Rauschenberg, Serra, Twombly, Jannis, Paladino, con l’ultimo piano, invece, dedicato alle mostre temporanee; un bell’esempio di arte che convive con i grandi ampi cortili e rumori di vita reale che arrivano indisturbati dai vicoli intorno alla struttura. Il MADRE ha anche un interessante cartellone di spettacoli, film, concerti, che trasformano lo spazio museale e lo rendono parte attiva della città.


Seconda tappa del nostro percorso è la DAFNA Home Gallery (Via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi, 76 – http://www.dafna.it), la casa studio dell’artista Danilo Ambrosino, trasformata in Gallery per creare una nuova idea di spazio espositivo, dove sia artista e pubblico si trovino a loro agio all’interno dei diversi ambienti.
Ritornando nella zona del centro storico, nella zona di uno dei mercati più antichi della città, quello della Pignasecca, c’è il Museo Hermann Nitsch (Vico Lungo Pontecorvo 29/d – www.museonitsch.org), sorto in uno spazio predisposto per la produzione di energia elettrica,  ha trasformato uno stabile in disuso in un complesso creativo.

Le sale, oltre alla collezione caratterizzata da installazioni che Nitsch in collaborazione con Giuseppe Morra ha realizzato dal 1974 ad oggi, ospitano il Centro di Documentazione, Ricerca e Formazione,  la Biblioteca-Mediateca, il Dipartimento per il Cinema Sperimentale Indipendente e l’Audioteca di Musica Contemporanea. In cantiere all’interno dello stesso palazzo, c’è la creazione di una Stanza del Gusto  integrata al Terrazzo dei Sapori e dei Colori pensato dallo stesso Nitsch.
Lungomare, Palazzo Partanna, nelle stanze in cui Lucio Amelio ha fatto la storia dell’arte contemporanea partenopea, oggi è ospitata CasaMadre (Piazza dei Martiri 58 – www.lacasamadre.it), uno spazio espotivo che ha l’ambizione di dimostrare che è Napoli il luogo da dove ripartire per il rilancio della nuova arte, intesa come forma e potenza espressiva. Nei nuovi ambienti sono ospitate opere di artisti molto diversi tra loro, ma che esprimono tutti identità culturale e morale, da Paladino a Anish Kapoor, da Domenico Bianchi a Pistoletto.

Altro gioiella della Napoli artistica è il PAN – Palazzo delle Arti di Napoli (Via dei Mille 60 – www.palazzoartinapoli.net). Spazi espositivi, di consultazione per lo studio delle opere e dei protagonisti delle forme dell’arte contemporanea; pittura, scultura, architettura, fotografia, design, cinema, videoarte, e fumetto, il PAN è una ricchezza per chi vive l’arte nelle piccole cose di ogni giorno. È per questo che si propone come un centro di cultura attivo e vivace, perfettamente inserito nella vivace vita culturale della città; un occhio di riguardo bisogna indirizzarlo verso “Pan Kids”, ambiente interattivo dedicato ai più piccoli.


Qualsiasi sia il vostro percorso o itinerario bisogna sicuramente concluderlo con una visita al Museo del Novecento (via Tito Angelini, 22), ospitato nelle sale di Castel Sant’Elmo. La visita al castello vale la passeggiata e la vista da uno dei punti più alti della città offre un panorama unico e ineguagliabile; in alcune sale è nato il Museo del Novecento, che ripercorre attraverso 170 opere di 90 artisti, la produzione in città durante il cosidetto secolo breve, in pittura, scultura e sperimentazioni grafiche.


Naturalmente le esposizioni non si esauriscono qui, altro tempo lo potete dedicare al Plart (via Giuseppe Martucci 48 – www.fondazioneplart.it) o allo Studio Trisorio (Riviera di Chiaia 215 – www.studiotrisorio.com), spostandovi in provincia al Casoria Contemporary Art Museum (Via Duca D’Aosta, Casoria – www.casoriacontemporaryartmuseum.com) o vi basterà girare con la Linea 1 della Metro per poter entrare voi stessi nelle opere di alcuni grandi architetti contemporanei, progettisti delle stazioni sotterranee, disegnate per portare l’arte nei luoghi di tutti i giorni.
